The primary purpose
of this site is to archive the original factory patches from Yamaha 4OP FM synthesizers.
It does not contain user made voices but those designed by Yamaha at the time
of the synthesizer’s release. Whilst most of these are permanently store the in
the synthesizers ROM memory they are provided here so you can load patches from
models you don’t own. Also
some patches are not permanently stored on the synthesizer and so need to be
loaded from an external source to get them back (for example the performance
patches on the TX81Z which I hope to be offering here soon). The third reason to
have these patches available online is for those with compatible software
synths.
